چکیده
Exopolysaccharides (EPS) are the large molecular weight carbohydrate polymers extracted from higher plants, algae, fungi and bacteria. The thermophilic Bacillus zhangzhounesis 2CA licheniformis 2CS used in present study were isolated Çermik hot springs. growth conditions of strains designated as different basal media (M1, M2 M3), carbon sources concentrations yeast extract (%w v-1: 0.05, 0.1, 0.15 0.2) amount EPS produced investigated. In addition, phenol-sulfuric acid method Lowry to determine carbohydrates proteins within by bacteria, respectively. highest total dry for B. 2ÇS was obtained 121 mg M3 medium (0.2% + 1% sucrose), content 333.28 µg mL-1 protein 0.19 mL-1. When these two bacteria compared terms produced, found (1087.03 mL-1). antibacterial effects investigated against pathogenic microorganisms (E. coli, S. aureus, K. pneumoniae P. aeruginosa). It determined that activity E. coli (with 16 mm zone diameter) with sucrose).

Antibacterial peptides from thermophilic bacteria
It is becoming interestingly apparent that innovations of the classical antibiotics are not effective, that induces need for novel drugs. Peptide antibiotics exhibit a group of secondary metabolites with hydrophobic and cyclic structures containing d-amino acidc like compounds with more resistant to proteolytic degradation. Bacterial peptides can possess bactericidal, fungicidal, metal chelatin...
متن کاملIsolation, Identification and Optimization of Exopolysaccharide Producing Lactic Acid Bacteria from Raw Dairy Samples
Most of the Gram-positive bacteria, including lactic acid bacteria, produce exopolysaccharides (EPS). EPS are either excreted into the growth medium (slime) or attached to the bacterial cell wall (capsules). They are long-chain, high molecular carbohydrate polymers. In dairy industry, EPS producing cultures provide the fermentation produced with viscosity, stability and water binding functions....
متن کاملOptimization of Cellulase Production from Bacteria Isolated from Soil
Cellulase-producing bacteria were isolated from soil and identified as Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus subtilIs, E. coli, and Serratia marcescens. Optimization of the fermentation medium for maximum cellulase production was carried out. The culture conditions like pH, temperature, carbon sources, and nitrogen sources were optimized. The optimum conditions found for cellulase production were 4...
متن کاملFermentation Technologies for the Optimization of Marine Microbial Exopolysaccharide Production
In the last decades, research has focused on the capabilities of microbes to secrete exopolysaccharides (EPS), because these polymers differ from the commercial ones derived essentially from plants or algae in their numerous valuable qualities. These biopolymers have emerged as new polymeric materials with novel and unique physical characteristics that have found extensive applications. In mari...
